Thruxton RD7 – 16/17/18th August 2019

The weekend started off on Friday, with two practice sessions. In FP1, I finished 13th in the rain, my first time in the car in the wet! For FP2, a huge downpour prior to the session and the car mid way through being wrapped, we decided not to go out and not risk it.

Saturday started off with qualifying, and now it was dry, the power issues with the car really started to show, as we qualified 21st.

Race 1: I started 21st and finished 15th

Race 2: I started 21st and managed to make my way to 8th on the first lap! However, after a red flag, the pack bunched back up, meaning we ended up finishing 15th again.

Sunday there was only one race, Race 3, and we were starting 15th. After a hard race, the car broke down on the last lap with an engine issue.

Overall a disappointing weekend with power issues taking 0ver and meaning we weren’t competitive, however, there were many positives to take from my first race weekend in Ginetta Juniors.

Thank you very much to Alastair Rushforth Motorsport for getting the car ready for the weekend and working extremely hard, Emotion Wraps for wrapping the car in time for Saturday, AutoTreasures for their support, Lewis and Tony Rushforth for their help across the busy weekend, Jack Mitchell and Sennan Fielding for the driver coaching and most importantly my parents for getting me where I am now and on the Ginetta Junior grid.
